Minnehaha Academy is a private, K-12 college prep school that draw students from across the Twin Cities.
Hiawatha Collegiate is a free, public charter school serving grades 9-12.
Sullivan STEAM Magnet school is a pre-k-8 public charter schools that focuses on science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Enrollment is open to students from all Minneapolis neighborhoods.
Sandford is an International Baccalaureate and Middle Years Program school celebrates immigrant and multicultural pride.
Places of Interest
The jewel in the crown of the expansive Minneapolis parks system, Minnehaha Regional Park is centered around the 53-foot waterfall. It include picnic and playground facilities, hiking trails, and scenic views.
Biking and walking paths run along the limestone bluff gorge that overlooks the portion of the Mississippi River designated as the Mississippi River Gorge Regional Park. A favorite of bird watchers, it provides habitat for more than 150 migrating bird species.
The Milwaukee Avenue Historic District is made up of a unique collection of 78 single- and multiple-family Victorian homes, most built in the 1880s for working class laborers and immigrants.
The Playwrights’ Center nurtures aspiring and experienced playwrights and offers classes and events and free public readings.
The Minnehaha Mile Shopping District (MinneMile) is composed of locally owned retail stores featuring all things reuse, recycled, repurposed, and up-cycled goods and crafts.
